In this article, Lebanon has passed a domestic violence law on April 1, 2014 entitled "Protection of Women and Family Members from Domestic Violence". This new law protects women from domestic abuse, related policing, and provides court reforms. Sadly, this new law remains vacate in criminalizing marital rape and fails to clearly define domestic violence. The United Nations responded by saying that the new law defines domestic violence "narrowly" and does not address everything. The costs for court reforms do not cover protection for all members of society, especially for the lower class
